Karen Shanton among 2012 ACLS Public Fellows: The American Council of Learned Societies is pleased to announce the second cohort of ACLS Public Fellows. The 13 fellows, who were selected from a very competitive group of recent Ph.D. recipients, will join partnering organizations for two-year terms. They will participate in the substantive work of these agencies and receive professional mentoring to further transition into non-academic careers. The APA is pleased to recognize Karen Shanton, a recent Rutgers Ph.D., as one of the 2012 ACLS Public Fellows. Dr. Shanton has been selected to serve two years as a Legislative Studies Specialist with the National Conference of State Legislatures.
