Call for Potential Commentators and Chairs

The 2008 Eastern Division Program Committee very much welcomes nominations, particularly self-nominations, from individuals interested in serving as commentators and session chairs at the 2008 Eastern Division meetings. In selecting for these roles, the Program Committee tends to prefer, other things being equal, persons who have not made frequent appearances on the Eastern Division Program in the past few years. Individuals who are willing to serve in this role should send the information specified below to the Chair of the Program Committee, Tamar Gendler at tamar.gendler@yale.edu, or by post to: Tamar Gendler, Department of Philosophy, Yale University, P.O. Box 208306, New Haven, CT 06520-8306 no later than April 1, 2008.

Expressions of interest should include the name of the (self-)nominee, the nominee's departmental affiliation, a list of the nominee's areas of specialization and particular interest, and the names of two or three of the nominee's significant or representative recent publications. (A curriculum vitae is not required for this purpose.)
The Program Committee will try to include as many as possible of those who express interest in this way. However, we cannot guarantee to place on the program everyone who volunteers to be a commentator and/or chair. Whether or not you get called on will depend in part on the number of volunteers, and the number of accepted papers, in your particular area.
