The APA committee on inclusiveness in the profession is now soliciting teaching materials bearing on any area of philosophy among those that have traditionally been underrepresented in the curriculum, including but not limited to the following:

  • Africana Philosophy
  • African American Philosophy
  • Asian and Asian American Philosophy
  • Feminist Philosophy
  • Islamic Philosophy
  • Latin American Philosophy
  • LGBTQ Philosophy
  • Multicultural Philosophy
  • Native American Philosophy
  • Philosophy and Disability
  • Philosophy of Gender
  • Philosophy of Race

Subcategories and other categories may be added depending on the types of materials received. Syllabi for courses that have modules corresponding to underrepresented areas are also welcome (for example, a philosophy of art syllabus with a feminism module, or a philosophy of religion syllabus with an East Asian module).

The materials received will be used in a new section of the APA website for instructors seeking to incorporate in their teaching some topics or courses relevant to diversity and inclusiveness. Please send only materials you are willing to have posted on the APA website; submission will be interpreted as permission to post the materials on the APA website. If you would like your name or institution to be credited for submitted syllabi or other materials, please specify that when submitting.

Submit syllabi, topics, readings, and any other teaching materials by email (as attachments) to Susana Nuccetelli, chair of the committee on inclusiveness in the profession, at sinuccetelli@stcloudstate.edu.

By sending samples of syllabi, topics, and/or suggestions for readings, you will be helping to promote diversity in the profession. Thank you for participating in this important project!
