Support the APA and its diversity and inclusiveness initiatives
Wednesday, December 18, 2013
As we at the American Philosophical Association reflect on 2013, it’s clear that it has been a banner year for the APA. We launched a new website, started a new journal, and established important partnerships, including our collaboration with the PhilPapers Foundation. These efforts are possible thanks to members like you.
One of the things we’re most excited about this year is the creation of our new fund for diversity and inclusiveness. This fund will allow the APA to provide more support for initiatives focused on diversity and inclusiveness in philosophy. Inclusiveness is a top priority for the APA, and though we have limited resources, we are committed to being a leader in the effort to make philosophy the diverse and accepting community it must be in order to succeed.
Today, we ask you to join the APA's board of officers in supporting the association with a donation. In 2013 alone, the board of officers raised nearly $32,000 for the APA’s work, and more than 60 percent of the money contributed to the fund for diversity and inclusiveness thus far was donated by board members.
But the board can’t sustain the association or our diversity efforts alone—we need your help.
Please donate to the APA today.
You can support all of the APA’s work with a contribution to our general fund or donate specifically to the fund for diversity and inclusiveness—or to one of our other specialty funds. No matter how you choose to contribute, your donation will support the long-term health and strength of the association and the profession of philosophy, and for that you have our sincere appreciation.
We wish you a happy and healthy holiday season!
Chair, Board of Officers
