The APA committee on inclusiveness in the profession will hold a session on implementing the APA nondiscrimination policy at the 2014 Pacific Division meeting later this month. The session will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.
Panelists include current and past inclusiveness committee
members Cheshire Calhoun, Peggy DesAutels, Alastair Norcross, and Anita
Silvers, as well as Leslie Francis, past chair of the committee on
academic career opportunities and placement, and Amy Ferrer, APA executive director. The goal of the
discussion is to develop positive directions in which the APA can move
to address discrimination.
If you are unable to attend the session, we invite you to send
questions, comments, and suggestions in advance of the meeting to the
session chair, Anita Silvers. Unless otherwise requested, these will be circulated at the meeting to contribute to the conversation.
Interested members may also wish to read a recent statement on the APA and accessibility by three APA members with disabilities, all current or past members of the inclusiveness committee.
