As the 2015-2016 membership year approaches, I invite you to continue your APA membership, which is set to expire on June 30.
Please renew promptly to ensure that your membership benefits, discounts, and website access will continue without interruption. As you are aware, there are many benefits to being an APA member:
eligibility to submit papers and present your work at the APA’s three annual divisional meetings
discounts on meeting registration and hotel rates
free subscriptions to APA publications such as the Journal of the American Philosophical Association, the Proceedings and Addresses of the APA, and the APA newsletters
exclusive discounts, including books, journals, Interfolio, and JPASS by JSTOR
eligibility for more than 20 prizes and awards exclusive to APA members
eligibility to serve in APA leadership positions, such as the board and committees, and to vote in APA elections (full members only)
We continue to work hard to maintain our commitment to the profession by providing expanded resources and increased support for important programs. Some highlights follow:
Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant: The grant will provide $600,000 over three years to support undergraduate diversity institutes in philosophy, including the expansion of the Philosophy in an Inclusive Key Summer Institute (PIKSI) program.
Expanded Guide to Graduate Programs in Philosophy: A major redesign of the Guide is in progress, moving it from an annual online publication to an interactive website.
New APA Blog: Launching this year, the APA blog will include newsworthy philosophical achievements and successes, topics of philosophical interest, current events, issues concerning the profession, information about APA events and activities, and more.
Please join us in welcoming the new membership year by renewing your membership today!
All the best,
Amy E. Ferrer
