The search for a secretary-treasurer of the APA Central Division is still underway. The search committee plans to conduct initial interviews at the 2016 Central Division meeting in Chicago in March, and applications must be received by December 15, 2015, in order to be given full consideration for those interviews.
Please note that this is a different search from the search for an APA treasurer.
The executive committee of the Central Division hopes to make an appointment before the end of 2016, and it is expected that there will be a transitional year during which the appointee will work with the present secretary-treasurer, Robin Smith. The exact date for assuming the position is negotiable.
A candidate for the position must be a regular or emeritus member of the APA and must be an affiliate of the Central Division in order to take up the position. The stipend is negotiable (including for the transition period), but it has recently been approximately $10,000 per year.
The secretary-treasurer's responsibilities include oversight of the division’s annual meeting, support of divisional committees and elections, oversight of the division’s finances, and representation on the board of officers. A full description of the position is available on the APA website.
Applicants should send a letter of interest, including the names of three references plus contact information, to Elizabeth Anderson, chair of the search committee, at [email protected], by December 15, 2015. Initial inquiries about the position are also welcome.
