Teaching and profession-related sessions at the APA Pacific Division meeting

Planning to attend the 2016 Pacific Division meeting March 30-April 3 in San Francisco, CA? Don’t miss the following teaching and profession-related sessions. They promise to be informative and thought-provoking.

A Place for Philosophy of Science in High School Curricula? – Wednesday, March 30, 4-6 p.m. Arranged by the APA Committee on Pre-College Instruction in Philosophy. Panelists include Evan Fales, Peter Railton, Andrea Woody, and Michael Ruse.

Academic Boycotts – Thursday, March 31, 1-4 p.m. Arranged by the APA Committee on International Cooperation. Chaired by Raja Halwani, the session includes speakers Russell Berman, Samuel Fleischacker, Mohammed Abed, and Joseph Levine.

Our Obligations to Adjuncts – Thursday, March 31, 4-6 p.m. Arranged by the APA Committee on the Teaching of Philosophy. Speakers include Teaching Committee Chair Alexandra Bradner, Sharon Rowe, and Anthony Boese.

Jobs and Rewards: Teaching Philosophy at Community Colleges – Saturday, April 2, 9 a.m.-noon. Arranged by the APA Committee on Philosophy in Two-Year Colleges. Panelists include Committee Chair Thomas Urban, Marc Bobro, Robert Boyd, Ari Krupnick, and Rick Mayock.

Advance registration rates ($105 for APA members, $145 for non-members, and $35 for student members) are available until March 16 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. After that, registration rates will increase by $50. Please note: you’ll save an additional $5 on registration fees if you don’t need a paper copy of the program. Our free meeting app will contain the full meeting program.
