The American Philosophical Association is committed to supporting all of its members—philosophers like you—and to increasing the inclusiveness of the profession. In 2018, the APA will provide $20,000 to fund projects aiming to increase the presence of underrepresented groups in philosophy. And we will continue to support PIKSI and other undergraduate diversity institutes in philosophy as well as their alumni.

Before 2017 ends, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the APA. Your donation will help us continue our work in the new year.

It isn't always easy being a deaf philosopher, especially when your disability accommodations cost money and institutional resources are tight. The APA has consistently provided me with critical support in accommodations and advocacy for equal treatment since I started out in philosophy as a graduate student. As the former Disability Representative for the APA Committee on Inclusiveness, I know the APA continues to advocate and provide support for disabled philosophers in both individual and public settings. I donate my money and time to the APA because of the APA’s commitment to making the profession of academic philosophy a more diverse and inclusive discipline and for all that it does to promote the value of philosophy for everyone.

- Teresa Blankmeyer Burke, Gallaudet University

We have a variety of funds supporting diversity and inclusiveness, teaching, public philosophy, prizes, and more. We especially appreciate donations to our general fund, which can be directed to wherever the need is greatest.

Each donation goes a long way toward helping the APA to support philosophy and philosophers.

With gratitude,
