Renew your membership

The renewal period for membership dues is July 1 through September 1 every year. You may renew your dues online by signing into the website and then clicking the "Renew or View Your Membership” item in the "Membership" menu. You can also access this page by clicking the "Membership Info" link in the "My Profile" section of the right sidebar.

If your membership is eligible for renewal, you will see the link to "Securely renew your membership now”; click this link and follow the instructions on the screen to renew. If your membership is current and not available for renewal, you will not see this link, but you will still see your membership expiration date and a link to receive a membership confirmation.

Manage favorite pages

At the top of most pages (such as this one), to the right of the page title is a gray star. When you click this star, a box will appear that says, "Add this as a favorite." By default, the name of the favorite is the title of the page. You can change this if you wish. Categories allow you to organize your favorites. Once you create a category by entering text in this field and clicking "submit," that category will pop up when you begin typing the next time you enter text in the category field.

You can make your favorites public (visible when other users visit your profile) or private (visible only to you). If you select the "Favorites" link in the menu box on the right-hand side of the page, you will be taken to the list of your favorites, listed by the categories you created.

Connect with other members

The APA website gives you the opportunity to create lists of other members you can message quickly - individually or collectively. This makes it easy to stay in touch with friends and people you work with. To connect with another member, use the Member search feature. In the search results, if you hover over the member's name, a popup box will appear. Beneath the member's photo, select "add connection" to send a connection request. Once the member approves your connection request, you are connected: they will appear in your Connections list, and you in theirs.

You can categorize connections as colleagues, friends, or family. By default, connections appear in the "uncategorized" category. Once you assign a category, you cannot change the category to "uncategorized."
