Prize for Teaching Excellence in Philosophy

Prize for Teaching Excellence in Philosophy Details » Donate Online

The APA/AAPT Prize for Teaching Excellence recognizes a philosophy teacher who has had an outstanding impact on the student learning of philosophy in undergraduate and/or pre-college settings. The $1,000 award is presented annually to a winner selected by a selection committee including representatives from AAPT and the APA's Committee on the Teaching of Philosophy.

Launched with a $10,000 founding donation from an anonymous donor and an additional $5,000 from the AAPT, the prize will begin once its endowment reaches $20,000, and will be fully endowed once the $30,000 funding goal is reached. After the $30,000 goal is reached, donations will continue to be accepted in the hopes of increasing the award amount in the future.

See detailed information on the prize and selection process. »

We invite donors to support the teaching of philosophy by making a donation to fund this important prize—the APA's first teaching prize.
