Because of the global coronavirus outbreak, philosophers around the world are converting their in-person courses to online instruction—many for the first time. To help support philosophers in making this transition successfully, the APA has organized a webinar for APA members: Teaching Philosophy Online: Advice and Tips from Experienced Instructors.

The webinar will include brief presentations from three philosophers with expertise in teaching online philosophy courses, follow by Q&A with attendees. The panelists for the webinar are the following:

  • Merritt Rehn-DeBraal (Texas A&M San Antonio)
  • Kristina Grob (USC Sumter)
  • Fritz McDonald (Oakland University)

The webinar will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at 3 p.m. Eastern time / 12 noon Pacific time. To participate, click the "Register" button above. Registration will be available until 11 a.m. Eastern time / 8 a.m. Pacific time on the day of the webinar, and access information will be provided to registrants at least one hour prior to the start of the webinar. Registration is limited to current APA members.

Whether you’re teaching online for the first time due to the current crisis or whether you teach online regularly and are looking for ways to make your courses even better, this webinar will offer useful advice and insight. Space is limited, so register now! If you’re unable to attend the live webinar, a recording will be made available to APA members afterward.
