The global coronavirus outbreak has created a variety of challenges for philosophy departments at colleges and universities around the world. To help support philosophy department chairs in navigating these challenges, the APA has organized a webinar: How to Lead in a Crisis: Philosophy Department Chairs and the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The webinar will include brief presentations from three philosophers, followed by Q&A with attendees. The panelists for the webinar are the following:

  • R. Lanier Anderson, (Stanford University)
  • Janet Stemwedel (San Jose State University)
  • Lori Watson (University of San Diego)

The webinar will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time / 9:30 a.m. Pacific time. To participate, click the "Register" button above. Registration will be available until 11 a.m. Eastern time / 8 a.m. Pacific time on the day of the webinar, and access information will be provided to registrants at least one hour prior to the start of the webinar. Registration is limited to current APA members and non-members who are currently serving as chair of a philosophy department.

Space is limited, so register now! If you’re unable to attend the live webinar, a recording will be made available to APA members afterward.
