The Center for Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona is pleased to announce re-scheduling of the postponed April 13-18, 2020 'live' conference in Tucson, re-programmed as an Online event September 14-18, 2020. You are re-invited to give your presentation, in (more-or-less) the same session, day and time. (April 13 program will be September 14; April 14 program will be September 15; and so on). Greetings at this challenging time. We trust this letter finds you and yours safe, well, and ready to interact with colleagues online to share research and understanding on the Science of Consciousness. Should your circumstances be otherwise, we extend our heartfelt wishes and hopes that things will get better as we all rebound from these difficult times soon.


The Center for Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona is pleased to announce re-scheduling of the postponed April 13-18, 2020 'live' conference in Tucson, re-programmed as an  Online event September 14-18, 2020. You are re-invited to give your presentation, in (more-or-less) the same session, day and time. (April 13 program will be September 14; April 14 program will be September 15; and so on). See tentatively rescheduled Plenary program below. All presenters originally scheduled for the April conference are re-invited for the September 14-18, 2020 online event in their same category, session and (to the extent possible) time slot. The September event is open to the public. You do not have to make a presentation in order to participate. Registrations required.


Please see the specific instructions below regarding refunds and transfer of registration fees.


Plenary and Keynote sessions will be livestreamed and virtual with live Q&A discussion for each session.


Livestream entertainment and social interactions in nightly 'Consciousness Central' programs, ranging from the Monday night Psychedelics Symposium 

to the Friday night Poetry Slam and Talent Show. 


Concurrent speakers (owing to bandwidth and time constraints) are invited to submit their 20-minute presentations as a pre-recorded video file. We will provide technical instructions in a subsequent email to you. To the extent possible, Pre-recorded Concurrent talks will be scheduled and presented online sequentially with other talks in that particular thematic session. After the talks, a moderator will facilitate discussion, and Q&A among the speakers and online audience. Please let us know asap if you will be providing a pre-recorded file.


Exhibitors, Art-Tech, Entertainment are also invited to prepare pre-recorded videos, demos, etc. Technical requirements will be provided.


Written abstracts (already online) and Video presentations from September will remain in place on the September platform and on our CCS website archives.


Networking and social media interactions will be encouraged.


Guidelines and assistance for pre-recorded talks and posters will be provided. We will provide specific instructions in our next correspondence.


Meanwhile, we await your response so we can schedule your slot.


We will continue to evaluate the abstracts for possible upgrade to a plenary spot. 


Workshops, Posters, Demos and other presentations will be handled similarly with details to follow.


Information about new submissions will be announced.


The September TSC ONLINE Consciousness Reboot event will be priced at $225, and $175 for students.

 

Registration and other fees previously paid for the original April conference can be either 1) refunded, or 2) applied as a credit for the September event, with the balance refunded, or applied in different ways i.e., to the 2022 Tucson (April 18-23, 2022) Conference or as a donation to the Center for Consciousness Studies. You will receive a separate notice regarding your registration reimbursements, and we apologize for any delay.

 

To our friends around the globe, we hope this live/virtual Online opportunity will be a great opportunity for you to join us despite time zone differences. We look forward to seeing you in September. Summary Instructions for Refunds and Registration - Options

  • Transfer your Eventbrite April Payment:  Apply your April 2020 Registration Fee to the Online Consciousness Reboot Event:  September 14-18, 2020. 
(specify your registration selections:  Standard: $225 $175 for students) Email your instructions to center@arizona.edu   
  • Transfer your April 2020 balance toward the 2022 Tucson Conference (Loews) April 18-23, 2022 (at the same registration rate $550/$450)
  • Support the Center for Consciousness Studies by applying your balance as a Donation to the Center's continued programming of Conferences and Outreach.
  • All donors will be listed as Sponsors for the September program. Thank you in advance for helping us to continue our programs. 
  • April 2020 Balances will be refunded online via Eventbrite or by check via The University of Arizona.
