Committee Charge

The committee assists the association in its mission to enhance academic career opportunities for philosophers, especially through the academic job market. It advises the board and membership on practices surrounding academic careers and hiring. It develops and maintains APA resources pertaining to hiring and careers, promotes awareness about the academic job market by sponsoring events, and provides resources for academic jobseekers and departments.

The chairs of the committee on non-academic careers and the committee on philosophy in two-year colleges serve in an ex officio capacity on this committee, one member of this committee serves as a liaison to the committee on philosophy in two-year colleges, and one member of the graduate student council (GSC) serves as a liaison to this committee.
