Committee: Philosophy and Law

This committee will cease operations as of June 30, 2020.

Committee Charge

The committee monitors and evaluates the relationship between the study of philosophy and the study and practice of law. Among its activities are the publication of the Newsletter on Philosophy and Law, periodic surveys of the teaching of philosophical topics in law schools and in undergraduate and graduate courses and programs in philosophy and law, and efforts to advance teaching and study of the philosophical topics in law. The committee administers the selection of the Fred Berger Memorial Prize.
 
The committee also publishes the Newsletter on Philosophy and Law, the editors of which serve in an ex officio capacity on this committee.
