Committee Charge

The committee's responsibility embraces all activities of the association relating to the enhancement of non-academic career opportunities for philosophers. The committee supervises programs related to employment opportunities in business, government, and other non-academic areas.

The chair of this committee serves in an ex officio capacity on the committee on academic career opportunities and placement.

The committee first published a guide on non-academic careers for philosophers in 1984. The 2016 edition of this guide, Beyond Academia: Professional Opportunities for Philosophers, is now available.
