We are very pleased to announce that Lewis Powell has been selected as the lead editor of the APA blog, set to launch later this year.

Lewis Powell is an assistant professor in the philosophy department at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. He received his Ph.D. in 2011 from the University of Southern California, and his research focuses on early modern philosophy of mind and language.

Powell shares the APA’s ambitious vision for the blog, saying,

My goal for the APA blog is to create a forum for issues of importance to APA members, whether those issues relate to service, teaching and research, or to the state of the discipline more generally. The blog will present perspectives from a broad array of APA members, highlight the activities being undertaken by the APA, and provide a venue where the APA leadership and membership can communicate with each other more effectively.

Powell now seeks associate editors to assist him in running the blog. Associate editors will write blog posts and assist the lead editor with moderation, outreach, and editing. Stipends will be provided to associate editors.

Those interested in serving as associate editors are asked to email the following items to by July 10:

  • Brief CV (4 pages maximum)
  • Cover letter
  • Statement of interest

We look forward to sharing more details about the APA blog as we prepare for its launch.
