Over the past several months, the APA leadership, including the board of officers and the executive committees of all three divisions, have been closely monitoring developments related to the coronavirus pandemic and its potential impact on divisional meetings planned for 2021.

In late August, we announced that the Eastern and Central Division meetings will not be held in person. It has also now become clear that the pandemic’s effects will not have sufficiently abated for us to hold the Pacific Division meeting planned for March/April 2021 in person. All three 2021 APA divisional meetings will be held virtually rather than in person.

We expect that the virtual meetings will be held on or about the same dates scheduled for the in-person meetings, and all or nearly all the sessions planned for the in-person meetings will go forward in virtual format. The Eastern Division meeting will take place over two consecutive Thursday-to-Saturday periods: January 7-9 and January 14-16, 2021. The Eastern Division meeting program and registration portal will be available soon, and the exact dates of the Central and Pacific Division meetings will be announced in the coming weeks.

Program participants for each of the meetings will soon receive additional information related to scheduling and planning their sessions for the new virtual format. We will announce further details about the virtual meetings as they become available, both by email and on the meeting pages on the APA website.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate these challenging circumstances. We hope you are healthy and safe, and we look forward to gathering with you (virtually or in-person) soon.
