The program committee for the 2014 APA Central Division meeting welcomes volunteers to serve as commentators or chairs for submitted symposium or colloquium papers. If you would like to volunteer for the 2014 meeting, to be held February 26 to March 1 in Chicago, please use our online volunteering form.

You may also volunteer by sending your name, email address, institutional affiliation, areas of interest, and whether you are volunteering as a chair, as a commentator, or both, to If you wish, you may attach your curriculum vitae as a file or include a URL to a home page or an online CV.

This information will be given to the program committee so that you may be considered as a chair or commentator for a submitted symposium or colloquium paper. The committee will finalize acceptance decisions for submitted papers in August, and invitations to chairs and commentators will generally go out in late August through October, although some invitations may continue into December.

Volunteering does not guarantee that you will be asked to comment or chair. The program committee also makes use of other sources for possible commentators and chairs, including the authors of submitted papers that were not accepted. The number of volunteers usually exceeds the number of positions that need to be filled. The committee does not notify those volunteers who have not been selected.

If you have volunteered to comment or chair in a previous meeting and wish to volunteer for the 2014 meeting, you may update your information simply by volunteering again with this form. Information about those who have volunteered for past meetings is retained for one year.

Central Division policy generally limits each person participating in the main program (the program organized by the program committee) to a single speaking appearance. For the details, see the division's policy on multiple participation.
