John Brunero wins the APA’s
2016 Article Prize

NEWARK, Del. — May 5, 2016 — The American Philosophical Association is pleased to announce that Professor John Brunero (University of Nebraska–Lincoln) has been awarded the 2016 Article Prize for his article, “Cognitivism about Practical Rationality.”

The Article Prize, which includes a $2,000 monetary award, is awarded every other year in even years, recognizing the best article published by a younger scholar.

Brunero received his Ph.D. in 2006 from Columbia University. He taught at the University of Missouri–St. Louis from 2006 to 2014. In 2013-2014, he was a Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellow in the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University. Brunero joined the philosophy department at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in August 2014. He teaches courses in moral, political, and legal philosophy. His research focuses primarily on questions in ethics and metaethics concerning reasons and rationality. Brunero has authored over twenty published papers.
