New and updated diversity resources for philosophy programs

The APA remains committed to supporting undergraduate study in philosophy for all students, and thanks to an ongoing grant by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, is continuing its increased focus on supporting undergraduate students from underrepresented groups interested in studying philosophy—including people of color, LGBTQ people, women, people with disabilities, and people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Mellon grant has allowed the APA to spearhead several initiatives, one of which is promoting and supporting undergraduate summer diversity institutes in philosophy. Because many students and faculty may not be aware of the various summer institutes available to students, we recently sent a packet of fliers, posters, and other diversity resources to all undergraduate philosophy departments. You may have seen these posted around your department already!

We want to make sure that all of our members have access to these materials, and so we have posted print-on-demand versions to the APA website. Each item can also be accessed individually via the following links:

We would be happy to provide additional information about the Mellon grant and other opportunities to support diversity in philosophy.
