Today is Humanities Advocacy Day! A record-breaking number of humanities advocates are in Washington D.C. today, meeting with hundreds of members of Congress to make the case for federal funding for the humanities. The Trump administration is expected to issue a budget framework as early as this week that may include a call to eliminate the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).

The American Philosophical Association is partnering with the National Humanities Alliance (NHA) to make clear to Congress that we oppose all efforts to eliminate funding for the NEH.

We are asking supporters of the humanities to call and/or email their members of Congress. Calls from constituents will bolster the message of those on the Hill.

The NHA has created an email and phone patch-through system to make it quick and easy to contact your representative. I urge you to take advantage of the system and to call and email today.
