Membership Dues
Share |

The APA membership year runs from July 1 through June 30. Membership dues paid mid-year are not prorated, but first-time members joining after March 15 receive the remainder of the current membership year and the full following membership year for the price of their first year's dues.

Regular Membership

Regular membership dues are set on a sliding scale by total individual (not household) income. In contrast to the fee scales of many other associations, the APA's is not regressive: it is set at a flat 0.225% of the income amount at the bottom of each bracket, rounded to the nearest $5.

Sustaining Membership

Sustaining members support the APA by voluntarily paying a higher dues rate than they would pay according to the standard dues scale. Sustaining membership enables the APA continue to grow and improve, providing more and better services to our members and the profession. Sustaining members are recognized each year in our annual Proceedings and Addresses.

Tax Deductions

Your membership dues may be tax deductible as a professional expense to the extent that they are not reimbursed by another party. The APA is unable to provide advice to individual members on tax deductions, so we recommend you consult a tax professional to determine how best to report your dues on your IRS filings.
