The following statement was approved by the board of officers in 2004 and was originally published in Proceedings and Addresses of the American Philosophical Association, Vol. 78, No. 5, pp. 23, 119. 

Departments should not conduct job interviews in non-suite hotel rooms. Candidates who are subject to such interviews can appeal to the APA and are guaranteed anonymity.
