"Mentoring the Mentors" at the APA Pacific Division Meeting
Saturday, April 11, 2020, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (approx.)
The Westin St. Francis on Union Square, San Francisco, CA

The APA will host a "Mentoring the Mentors" workshop at the 2020 APA Pacific Division meeting thanks to generous funding from the

Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. This workshop application is open to faculty and graduate students who are serving or who hope to serve as mentors of undergraduate philosophy students, particularly students who will participate in summer undergraduate diversity institutes in philosophy (e.g., PIKSI, Rutgers Summer Institute for Diversity in Philosophy). Our facilitator this year will be Audrey Yap, Associate Professor of philosophy at University of Victoria, Canada.

For more details about the workshop, please refer to the APA blog post on Mentoring the Mentors. If you would like your department to host its own version of the workshop, please refer to the "Mentoring the Mentors" Workshop Toolkit. Please direct any questions about the workshop to APA program assistant Lucy Pawliczek at

Workshop participants will receive a reimbursement of up to $850 after the conference is over to cover travel and lodging costs.

The application period closed on January 13, 2020. Applicants will be notified by January 31, 2020 if they have been selected to participate in the workshop.
